We hope that teachers who hear about FF4Kids will share this resource with fellow teachers. If you or your district would like free in-service training or other training, please contact Angela Howdeshell at 316-978-5183 or Email KCEE@wichita.edu.

Step 2: Once you have completed the tutorial. . .
Download and save the Teachers Guide for your grade level. The Teacher Guides are only found on this website, not on the CD. Teacher's Guides contain the time necessary for each episode, standards information and additional resources.

Access the Teacher's Guides Here

Optional Step 2.a: Pre-Test
Have your students take the online pre-test for the grade level. Access to the pre-test here. Be sure to have your students show you their score or print the scores since we do not collect individual names or schools.

Step 3: Options for Accessing the Courseware
Financial Foundations for Kids is available to all Kansas elementary and middle schools free-of-charge. Select the appropriate option below:

  • ONLINE ACCESS FOR iPADS, iPHONES & NON-FLASH TABLETS:
iPad and non-flash tablets must download the FREE Puffin Academy app and then log into FF4Kids.com through that app to allow flash player to work properly. Once the app is active, click on the FF4K Log In on the left sidebar of the homepage or under the Teachers tab. Teachers new to using FF4Kids will need to register as an FF4Kids user first to obtain a log in password. All students can log in with the same teacher account.
  • ONLINE ACCESS FOR DESKTOPS:
Teachers new to using FF4Kids through the website will need to register as a user first to obtain a password. All students can log in with the same teacher account. Once you have a password, Click here to access FF4Kids via the Internet or select the FF4K LOG IN on the left sidebar of the homepage or under the Teachers tab.

  • CD-ROM or SCHOOL SERVER CD
You can request a copy of a CD-ROM that can be installed on individual computers or the school server. Email KCEE@wichita.edu
This CD can be given to your technology person to be installed on the school server for all students and teachers in the building to access directly. Best Method!

Step 4: Select Your Lesson
Choose your grade level episode from the teacher's guide. You may choose to use the correlations provided here. Once you have seen what the students will be experiencing, review the supplemental activity found in the Teachers Guide and prepare what you will need to teach the activity. Keep track of what episodes your students have completed using the Program Completion Chart.

Step 5: Using the Courseware
Use the Courseware in class. You will access the courseware from whatever method you selected in step 3. This will be either online, CD, or School server.

Option 1: Have your students work independently through the assigned lesson(s) on individual computers.
Option 2: Display the lesson from your computer system to the entire class and work through the materials together.

Step 7: Supplemental Activity
Do the supplemental activity from the Teacher's Guide to reinforce the concepts covered in the Courseware. If you have not already downloaded the guide then you may print it directly from the website: Access the Teacher's Guides Here

ADDITIONAL FF4KIDS RESOURCES/ACTIVITIES:

Optional Step 8: Post-Test

After your students have completed at least 1/2 of the lessons in their grade level, have your students take the online Post-Test. Be sure to have your students print their test results for your records. Download and print the award for the students that pass the test!
